Frequently asked questions.
I am traveling from out of town, how far in advance should I send in a submission?
I like to book out 2 to 3 months at a time. Please send in your submission at least a month in advance for the best chance of availability on your desired date.
I want a tattoo from you, but I do not live within traveling distance. Can I take one of your designs to another artist?
I am constantly flattered by this question. Unfortunately, I am not comfortable with my work being tattooed by another artist. You and your artist may feel free to take inspiration from my designs, but please do not copy the art directly.
I sent in a submission and haven’t heard back yet?
I try to send out emails once a week, but it can take 1-2 weeks to get back to submissions depending on the volume I receive. If it has been longer, feel free to resend your submission. Sometimes things slip through the cracks but I do my best to respond to every submission.
I want a custom piece from you. How does that process work?
I reserve custom projects for repeat clients, meaning someone that has gotten at least one piece of my flash regardless of size or price. This is to ensure that you like my style, you get a feel for working with me, and it allows you to see how my work heals before committing to a larger project.
Do you do color tattoos?
At the moment, I do not do color pieces. Most of my experience has been using solid black ink. I am not well versed in color packing techniques and do not feel confident enough in that skill to provide a tattoo we would both be happy with.
Where can I find your available flash?
There is a section in my dropdown menu labeled “AVAILABLE”, as well as a highlight reel on my Instagram. I update my flash every few months so be sure to check back if there’s nothing you are drawn to at the moment.
Can I get more than one piece of flash during my appointment?
Yes, absolutely! This is actually encouraged for smaller pieces of flash.
What is your rate?
I charge $600 for a half day of tattooing and $1200 for a full day. A half day is any tattoo under 4 hours. A full day is anything over 4 hours.
What if I don’t need an entire half day slot for my appointment?
My minimum is $300. This is for smaller pieces that don’t require under an hour.
What is the point of a deposit and how much do you charge?
I charge 30% of my flat rate as a deposit. Either $90, $200, or $400 depending on the length of the service. While deposits are nonrefundable, they do go towards the final cost of your tattoo.
Why are deposits nonrefundable?
Nonrefundable deposits encourage consistency and reliability for both the artist and the client. It is also to ensure that I don’t lose income when people cancel last minute as it is very difficult to fill a full day slot with less than 72 hour notice. I allow 2 reschedules per deposit as long as you provide notice at least 72 hours ahead of time. Less than 72 hour notice that you need to reschedule or cancel will forfeit your deposit. There are certain circumstances in which I make exceptions, just talk to me.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash is always preferred. I do also accept card, Venmo, and Apple Pay.
Do I have to tip monetarily?
Tips are always appreciated but never mandatory! Tattoos are expensive and if you don’t want to tip in $, I also accept:
Art
Plants
Jewelry
Trinkets
Pre rolls
Do you do trades? If so, what forms do you accept?
Sometimes! I’m more likely to accept trade offers at the end of the month, once I have rent covered. Trades that I am more likely to accept:
Larger art pieces (Ceramics, Stained glass, …
Art lessons. Are you super good at a less commonly accessible/ practiced mediums? Please teach me, I love learning new skills.
Photoshoots. Let’s collaborate and make some cool shit!
Tattoos (obviously)
Open to suggestions if you have a good idea…
What days of the week do you work?
Currently, I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Do you take walk-ins?
I do not take walk-ins. All appointments are made in advance. Any last minute availability will be advertised on my Instagram story.
What time should I arrive for my appointment?
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment unless otherwise agreed upon. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes late or it will be considered a no-call no-show, you forfeit your deposit, and your appointment will likely be subject to cancelation. If you know you are going to be late, please let me know. I am happy to be flexible within reason.
What is your reschedule policy?
No worries if you need to reschedule your appointment! I ask that you let me know at least 48 hours in advance. Deposits are nonrefundable. However, I will make some exceptions for extenuating circumstances.
What is your masking policy?
Masks are encouraged but not required.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
The only required item for you to bring is a valid form of identification. I recommend bringing a water bottle, snacks, and potentially something to keep you occupied.
What is a silent appointment and how can I request that?
Sometimes clients like to chat to distract themselves from the pain and other times people would like to do their own thing. If you would feel more comfortable to pop headphones in and tune me out, be my guest. I ask that we chat a little at the beginning of the appointment as the stenciling process is quite collaborative. Once the stencil is placed, I’ll go over my little pre-tattoo speech. After that’s done and we’ve moved on to the tattooing process, I’m happy to shut up and just focus on your tattoo. If this sounds like the type of appointment for you, just let me know beforehand and I’ll make a note of it!
Can I use numbing cream for my appointment?
Yes, however please let me know ahead of time. It is also important that you follow the product’s instructions prior to your appointment so that we are able to get started on time.
Am allowed to bring guests to my appointment?
Yes, everyone needs a little moral support sometimes. I do ask that you limit it to 1 guest as I do not have the space to accommodate more than that.
What is parking like near the studio?
There is a lot behind the studio on 18th. It says $5/day but the payment machine is broken.
